Vouchers towards any of the following are available upon request and make ideal birthday/Christmas presents for friends or family just starting out in photography.

1-1 Tuition

If you'd like 1-1 tuition in order to improve your photography - be it in terms of composition, locations, getting to know your camera or post-processing - just drop me a message using the contact form on this website. Whilst prices can vary depending on location and needs, this usually works out at about £20/hr. You're welcome to bring a friend along too, at a discounted rate for the two of you.

Gift Vouchers

You can buy gift vouchers which can be used against the cost of anything on this website - ideal for booking a photography workshop for friends and family. You can then select a specific workshop yourself or wait and allow the recipient to do so themselves upon receipt of their gift.

A workshop in my home town, and (obviously, without any bias) the most beautiful town in the world. Learning About Layers - online tutorial

We go over the basics of what layers are, why they are useful in editing landscape photographs and how to manually blend multiple exposures. The cost is £35 and can be arranged for whenever is convenient for you - for more information, click here.

York Nights

During the winter months this is especially accessible - starting in the early evening we will spend a few hours exploring some great locations for low light city photography before heading inside for a drink whilst I demonstrate a few of the techniques used in the processing. For more information and prices, click here.

The Dark Peak - Outcrops and Edges

This workshop takes us to some of the more remote, dramatic and exciting areas of the Peak District - making the most of the weathered gritstone scenery in an afternoon's walk. A small amount of walking is required, often up steep paths, but the views are definitely worth it. For more information, click here.

Waterfalls of the Yorkshire Dales

We explore some of the well known and hidden waterfalls of the Yorkshire Dales - some of the best waterfalls in the country - and learn about exposures, filters and photo-merging along the way. The dynamic range of these scenes is often well beyond the range of the standard DSLR so we learn how to deal with this creatively, whilst accounting for the general feel of the scene.

Sat 12th May 2018

Autumn in the Peak

An autumnal workshop in the Peak District limited to 4 people on Sunday 29th October. Taking in Padley Gorge, Millstone Edge, Over Owler Tor and possibly Higger Tor. Learn to make the most of the colourful landscape with tuition from official Visit Peak District photographer - Mat Robinson. For more information, click here.

Swaledale: Muker Meadows

We spend some time exploring upper Swaledale at this most beautiful time of year - as the wildflower meadows bloom. Meadows such as these are a dying breed due to modern farming methods, but are protected in Swaledale and provide a colourful backdrop to some classic landscape views whatever the weather.

Sat 9th Jun 2018

Lower Wharfedale - Heather season

We visit lower Wharfedale, ideal for those based in West Yorkshire, in the height of the heather season - with potential locations including Simon's Seat, Beamsley Beacon, Ilkley Moor and even Embsay Crag. A whole host of options to take in the best of the purple uplands at this time of year.

TBC - Get in touch if you are interested I'd be happy to organise this around you.

Heather in the Peak, Dales and Moors

Some last minute additions to the workshops calendar featuring some hugely discounted rates... due to a number of free days, both weekday and weekend, I've decided to offer some new options. You can choose whether to explore the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales or North York Moors whilst the heather is still in bloom - adding colour to these beautiful landscapes.
